Looking for something different for your next team-building event in Lyon? Set off on a treasure hunt along the Saône and discover the city from a whole new perspective. At the helm of motorboats that require no licence, your colleagues become crew members in a nautical adventure where observation, problem-solving and teamwork make all the difference.
As you cruise along the river, your mission unfolds with the help of a roadbook, a tailor-made map and a tablet packed with unexpected challenges. Find the checkpoints, solve the riddles and complete the missions along the way. You’ll also need to step outside your comfort zone, as some challenges involve taking photos or recording yourselves in the heat of the action!
This original activity is the perfect way to bring energy to a seminar in Lyon and create lasting memories together. Each team has one goal: rack up points, crack the secret code and try to unlock the Cryptex protecting the treasure. Near the Confluence district, get ready to put your observation skills, communication and team spirit to the test.

This nautical treasure hunt starts at the Confluence Marina in Lyon. You’ll cruise along the Saône River to Île Barbe before turning back and returning to your starting point at the Confluence Marina.

Do you need a boat licence?
No. The boats can be operated without a licence after a safety briefing provided by the Takamaka team.
Where does the Saône treasure hunt take place in Lyon?
The activity starts and finishes at the Confluence Marina. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to discover some of Lyon’s most iconic areas, including Confluence, Vieux Lyon, Vaise and Île Barbe. Throughout the route, teams navigate independently, following the designated checkpoints.
Can the activity go ahead in rainy weather?
The activity can easily go ahead in light rain, as the boats are equipped with canopies to shelter participants. Ponchos are also provided to ensure maximum comfort throughout the experience.
In the event of heavy rainfall that could compromise participants’ safety, the activity may be postponed. Alternatively, the Takamaka team will work with you to find a suitable alternative and put a Plan B in place.
What time of year can this activity be organised?
The activity is available from late March to late October, depending on weather conditions.
How many people can each boat accommodate?
Some of our boats can accommodate up to 7 participants, while others can hold up to 10.
