Description

Is fun canyoning no longer enough for you? Canyoning at the Pont du Diable near Aix-les-Bains offers a sportier, more challenging version. In a narrow, very aquatic gorge, you tackle abseils, handline sections, swimming and jumps of up to 12 m.

The canyon is located in Bellecombe-en-Bauges, 35 minutes from Aix-les-Bains, 40 minutes from Annecy and about 1 hour 30 minutes from Lyon. You make your own way to the meeting point. Its big advantage: a walk-in of just 5 minutes, so you get straight to the good stuff.

Jumps are at the heart of this canyon, but they can all be avoided by abseiling down instead. Your instructor decides on the spot which jumps can be done, based on your level and the conditions.

The route is open to anyone aged 12 and over, from sporty beginners to those with some experience. You need to be able to swim and be reasonably fit. Harness, helmet and neoprene wetsuit are provided, and a qualified instructor leads the group from start to finish.

Available in summer, from €65, the Pont du Diable is an ideal outing with friends or with the family and teenagers. It also makes a perfect gift idea for thrill-seekers.
